One of the most popular dishes in the USA is Cobb salad. It’s incredibly nutritious, as it contains a large number of ingredients and it should be perceived not as a prelude to lunch or dinner, and their complete replacement. After all, the Cobb salad recipe consists of chicken, bacon, tomatoes, celery, eggs, avocado, cheese, and a lot of greens and tasty dressing with olive oil and mustard. The name of the salad was in honor of its author – Bob Cobb, Brown Derby restaurant owner. One night, Bob went into the kitchen of the restaurant, to eat something. Wandering from the refrigerator to the refrigerator, he found a small piece of cheese, a couple of boiled eggs, tomato, garlic, avocado, boiled chicken breast, celery, a few leaves of lettuce. A cook fried bacon at this time, and Cobb decided to take him a couple of slices. From this simple set he hastily prepared a Cobb salad recipe with traditional dressing. Nevertheless, he liked the taste of the finished dish so much that soon Cobb salad was included in the places menu.

Great Cobb Salad Recipe

To prepare two portions of salad, we need: a handful of salad leaves (lettuce or Roman), 1 boiled or baked chicken breast, 2 hard-boiled eggs, 2 small tomatoes, 1 avocado, 2 “sticks” of celery, a small piece of cheddar cheese, 4 strips of bacon,1 tsp of mustard with grains, 1 tsp of Dijon mustard, 1-2 cloves of garlic, 2 tbsp of white wine vinegar, 4 tbsp of olive oil.

Garlic is passed through the press. Mix the crushed garlic with two kinds of mustard, vinegar and oil. Fry bacon in hot skillet until it becomes slightly crispy. All of the ingredients for the salad (except lettuce), cut into small cubes or short strips. Put the lettuce on plate. Put the strips on top of the rest of ingredients. Prepare the filling. Mix the vinegar, mustard, salt and pepper. A thin stream, stirring constantly, add olive oil. Add grated Roquefort cheese and sugar, mix well. Serve filling of Cobb salad recipe separately.
